The Poetry Cab 2023 will leave April 1st from Penn Station, New York and in just 20 days it will bring poets from 64 cities to Union Station, Los Angeles. We drive by car but we will follow the track of the Poetry Train.
The Poetry Cab
Your driver is Erik van Loon. He is a Dutch cab driver (2012-1019), artist and director of LA Poetry Beach Festival. The Poetry Cab will stop at 250 bookstores, 60 public libraries and 64 train stations.
Is For Free
The Poetry Cab is free for one poet a city. We select poets a city and you only need to write a mind blowing poem about the big city or small town along the Poetry Train where I have to pick you up. Isn’t that simple!
The ride
Join the ride and read your poem
The Poetry Cab will have a camera on board. This camera will register during your ride your poetry readings and your best Poetry Cab poem will be selected for a screening at LA Times Festival of Books!
